More Raw Food Headlines

Finally a dietician who is teaching raw: Courier Press
Also, an article on how the raw food movement is taking hold in Bali: The Australian

I really hear David Wolfe's words in my head from 10-13 years ago when I read all these articles today and see how raw food is spreading. He used to talk about how raw foods were just gonna be the accepted norm. Well, we aren't there yet, but man is it spreading like wildfire! It is so funny to have to explain raw food to people, because it is the most natural thing in the world. Instead people would rather argue as to why its natural to kill an animal. Poor human beings. We all do come around eventually though.

Stuffed Cabbage Raw Salad Lunch

This wasn't really a salad, but my "Southern Greens" recipe made with just swiss chard. After it was done, I put it in a red cabbage shell and ate it like a burrito. I put tomato slices on my husbands (see pic). I love red cabbage; it is extremely high in vitamin K. Let food be your medicine... as all crucifers are high in antioxidant phytonutrients, helping our body eliminate harmful compounds! It was incredibly delicious and satisfying!

Today I also had a flax cracker with some mac/pinenut/herb spread, both also in my recipe ebook along with the special greens recipe above. This morning I had my green stamina smoothie, also in my recipe book, that was particularly delicious, with broccoli sprouts! So I've certainly gotten my fair share of magic cruciferous vegetables today!

Raw Vegans Thin But Healthy ~ 2005 Study

Have you seen already the 2005 Reuters article? "People who follow a raw food vegetarian diet are light in weight but healthy, according to US researchers."

Today we went to the farmers market in Santa Monica because I am really transitioning to eating mostly fruit, and needed a larger supply then what I find at the Pacific Palisades market on Sundays. We got fresh squeezed blood orange juice, and a special treat I haven't allowed myself in years....dates! We got amazing fruits....sapotes, passion fruits, organic strawberries and blueberries, amazing cherry tomatoes (best ever!), and lots of greens, sprouts, and olives. We also got baby artichokes that I have marinated in a big jar with lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and herbs to eat RAW!

I've been fasting all week from fats and solid foods, so when we went to Rawvolution and Mark got a piece of raw pie and I had a few bites, it made me really sick. I really don't like agave and cashews, I have never liked agave, these things just don't sit well with me, but the pie was really good however. Then I had a huge cup of ORMUS tea that TOTALLY made me feel better. It was awesome! Felt like I was drinking healing dirt :-). And it was very healing. I can't wait to get some of this tea to have at home. It is very pricey but I think worth it. Then I had an E3 live coconut shake which also made me feel better.

Then we ate fresh strawberries, tomatoes, dates, and olives this afternoon, and this evening ate a huge purple cabbage shell with a swiss chard creamy mix on the inside I call "Southern Creamy Greens" in my recipe eBook. I might have some fresh papaya later this evening. I also had Premier's Oncaplex this morning like I do every morning as well as some Phytoplankton and Max Stress B Complex. The first few years I went raw I used to eat E3 live every day, now I can't afford it, but hope to again soon as it is the best ever!

Raw Food Lunch

This is what we had for lunch today. A "cheese" spread and raw cracker both detailed in my new recipe ebook. As usual we had our Stamina Morning Superfood Smoothie and dinner will be a huge bowl of chopped greens with herbs, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar. Then I'm off to teach 2 hours of Yoga in Pacific Palisades. Enjoy!

Back to Cleansing and Greens!

Feeling the need to cleanse again. Today had my usual morning superfood smoothie (found in my recipe eBook) and a huge bowl of greens (kale, arrugula, and collard greens) chopped fine with cilantro, dill, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, a few walnuts, and a few sprinkles of buckwheaties. Did two hours of yoga so it's 9:15 and I'm feeling like some fruit or a fruit smoothie, although I very rarely eat after 8.

O.K. Just decided I'm going to have a tangerine and Oxy-Mag with freshly juiced grapefruit and lemon to get started with that cleansing again before bed time. No smoothie this late!

I also had Marine Phytoplankton today, as it came in from Elements for Life last week. Best superfood ever. Very excited to have it back in stock in my kitchen!

Smoothie Day and Mentor David Jubb...

What did I eat today? A superfood smoothie in the morning. In my recipe eBook it's called the Green Morning Stamina Smoothie, and I added goji berries for fun. I did an hour and a half of intense yoga. Then at 3pm I had a couple small flax crackers with a couple teaspoons of pine nut, dill, cilantro, Spirulina, coconut oil, pistachio, pumpkin seed spread I threw together. Then went to the beach for a few hours and had a couple of tangerines. This evening we had an Acai Berry smoothie, it's the Purple Love Smoothie in my recipe eBook. Then I had a few garlic olives.

That's it! Not too hungry today. Kind of an unusual day for food, usually I have greens or a salad every day with lemon juice, but today I just wanted blended fruits, sprouts in my morning smoothie, and then a few tablespoons of healthy fats (soaked nuts, olives, flax and pumpkin seeds, and coconut oil). Maybe it has something to do with reconnecting with my breatharian mentor last night...

It was so wonderful reconnecting with Dr. David Jubb last night at Planet Raw. It's been five years since he's been to California! All of my success and wisdom with living foods comes from him and the family around him! Love you David!

Unfortunately David is currently being persecuted by his son's mother and the state for his unconventional ways.

Inspiration to be more than GREEN...Be a RAINBOW!

Being a committed raw food vegan for a long time will make you aware in a very powerful way of your connection to the earth and your part in the cycle of things. The native americans certainly were/are aware of our interconnectedness with the planet, which this video shows. Recently I have been reading a lot of Ethnobotany essays, profoundly detailing our interconnectedness with and dependence on plants and biodiversity. You don't need to be a hippy or a native american to understand how important it is that we all start to live more in tune with the planet again, which is opposed to actions like continuing to use plastic bags, fossil fuels, eat mass produced animal flesh, use air conditioners when we don't need to, take 30 minute showers, create a surplus of unhealthy food like wheat and other monocrops that contribute to over-population on the planet and that crowd out sustainable agriculture, treat our bodies like shit and then try to survive by taking antibiotics and pharmaceuticals, create 1000's of new toxic chemicals and spread them across the planet every year, and so, so much more...

BE the change you wish to see in the world.
